Clinical Evaluation of Dermatologic Findings in Consulted Non-Dermatology Patients during Their Admission


Abstract
Clinical observations of dermatologic findings were made on 164 patients who had been consulted to the Department of Dermatology during their hospitalization in Seoul Red Cross Hospital between January 1994 and August 1994.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1) The number f male patients was higher than that of female by 1.16 times.
2) the most frequent age group was the 7th decade.
3) The number of patients was most in internal medicine, then neurosurgery, neuropsychiatry.
4) The most frequent disease was eczematous dermatoses, the second was fungal infection and then viral infection and drug eruption.
5) Newly developed skin lesions after hospitalization were contact dermatitis, drug eruption, viral infection and fungal infection.
6) The disease names equally diagnosed in non-dermatologic department and dermatologic department were frequently found in internal medicine.
